Overview - Fanvil Device Provisioning

Here are the basic steps to connect your Fanvil Device to the TelTel Network.

Step 1: Gather information for each extension

Each extension has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each handset. For each device that you are configuring, obtain the following from the VoIP Portal PBX extensions section: www.Voipportal.com.au

Extension Username > (Register Username)
Display Name > (Name) 
Authentication Name > (Register Username)
Authentication Password > xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Password copied from PBX extension page in the Voip Portal)

Step 2: Factory Reset Fanvil Phone

  • Follow the steps below to factory reset your Fanvil device in order to bring back the factory default settings. This must be done before provisioning your Fanvil phone in case the device has residual settings of a previous configuration.
  • * Fanvil X*S: Unplug from power, if using POE – unplug.  Plug back in power or POE.  Press and hold # right after the Red Light blinks (the light in the lower right of phone) for about 10seconds and then release.  A few moments later, the screen prompts Post Mode enter, now press * # 1 6 8.  The phone will tell you it’s clearing and that it’s been reset.  Phone will restart.  Upon phone restarting it will ask you to select a Language.
  • * Fanvil X4G: Unplug from power, if using POE-unplug.  Press and hold # and then plug in power or POE connection.  “Post Mode” appears on screen enter * # 1 6 8 phone will clear and reset.  The phone does not restart, you will have to again unplug/replug in the phone.  It’s actually easier if you factory reset this phone through the web interface.

Step 3: Log into your device through a web browser

  • Enter IP address in your browser.  In next screen type in the following to access Admin panel for phones:
  • User: admin                Password: admin
  • * Fanvil H5:  Press and hold the # button.  If you press the speakerphone the phone will repeat the IP to you if not, it will be displayed on the screen itself.
  • * Fanvil X5S: On phone screen, press Menu button > Status icon >IPv4 Address is what you need
  • * Fanvil X4G: On phone screen, press Menu button > Status > IP Address is what you need

Step 4: Enter in the Extension details collected in step one

 

  • You should see the word (admin) in the upper right of your screen.  If you do not, you are not logged into the Admin portion and cannot edit as needed.

Click Line on the lefthand side

Click the Check box next to Activate to enable registration

Username >(Register Username)
Display Name > Extension Name 
Authentication Name > (Register Username)
Authentication Password > xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Password copied from PBX extension page in the Voip Portal)
Register Address > pbx.teltel.com.au
Register Port > 5060
Proxy Server Port > 5060

Don’t forget to Click Apply and Reboot the phone.
