3CX Adding a DID rule for your incoming number

A DID rule tells 3CX where to send calls that come into the PBX from your DID (incoming) phone number. Without a DID rule the PBX has no idea what to do with any calls that come into the 3CX PBX and will often simply hang up on them.

(1) Login to you 3CX Phone Management System

(2) Navigate to Inbound Rules in the left menu

(3) Click on the +Add DID Rule button

(4) Edit the Name of the DID rule and call it “My Incoming Number”

(5) Select the DID number (incoming phone number) in the DID/DDI dropdown box.

(6) In Route Calls To select the extension or PBX function that you want. In this example we have an extension setup called extension 100 , so we will choose to send the calls to Extension 100 so that phone rings when someone calls our inbound number.

(7) Click the blue OK at the top of the screen.

(8) Your DID Rule is now setup and calls to the DID number should make extension 100 ring.
